A new version of RDF::Core with a support for RDF Schema and other improvements and fixes is available for download.
Open source software has been rapidly growing in acceptance in the past several years. Although most of the web has run on open source software like Apache for the past 15 years, it is growing in use for a number of tasks. SugarCRM is one of the most popular programs for Customer Relationship Management. Drupal and WordPress are popular content management platforms. OpenOffice is a good alternative to Microsoft Office.
However, possibly the most important use of open source software is in programs where it isn't apparent: Software as a Service (SaaS). The majority of SaaS uses a tremendous amount of open source because if a company has to pay for a license for each user for all of the software it uses, it is impossible to scale it up in the way that SaaS requires. Everyone uses open source, but might not know it.
